CFA Hidden Treasures
CFA's website has a wealth of information about hundreds of topics. Due to the size and complexity of the website, some of them are a bit difficult to find though.
RBC has created a regular series titled "Hidden Treasures" aimed at pointing out parts of the CFA website and other CFA-related items that are very helpful but may not be easily discovered.
Cattery Names - CFA now has an available list of all the "taken" cattery names. This is incredibly helpful to anyone trying to come up with a new CFA cattery name. Plus, it's fun to just browse through them.
Entry 2K - Although not part of the CFA website, this program is very helpful to anyone entering CFA shows. Just input the basic info on each cat and store the completed entry forms. When you're ready to enter a show, you just pull up the list, choose a particular cat, add any show-specific info, and print out the completed entry form. No more filling out entry forms by hand or having to dig out a cat's registration number every time you enter a show. What a time-saver!!
Breeder Bucks - CFA has a program in which a breeder earns one "Breeder Buck" for each kitten of their breeding that is registered. These breeder bucks can be traded in for a number of CFA items (including certified pedigrees).
Vaccination Guidelines - Through the Winn Feline Foundation, CFA has provided a set of guidelines for vaccinations. A "must-read" for breeders and pet owners alike.
Feline Gingivitis Info - Great information from Winn Feline Foundation about this issue that most every cat and owner will face at some point.
Breed Specific Checks - You can order checks through CFA and show everyone what your favorite breed looks like.
CFA Registration Info - Lots of information about registering your cattery name as well as cats and kittens with CFA.
Fanc-E-Mews - CFA's online magazine ("ezine"). Lots of great articles about current CFA happenings, show info, breed spotlights, legislative information, cat care and tons of other topics. Definitely worth a look!
