Colorpoint Presentation
February 4-5, 2006
HOUSTON, TEXAS
Having failed to advance the Mitted & Colorpoint Ragdolls to AOV in 2005 Everyone worked even harder in preparation for the 2006 Proposal Presentation. The CFA Board Meeting was held on Feb 4-5, 2006 in Houston and the Ragdoll Breeders attending were Ragdoll Breed Council Secretary Isabelle Bellavance, Lu Ann McMahon, Laura Wilson, Brenda Hammett and Wain & Jeanne Pearce. This team worked very hard Sat afternoon setting up the cages and Display. Lu Ann had made 3 sets of matching cage curtains to go with the 2 sets that had been used in 2005. LuAnn also stopped on the way over and bought roses to place on top of each cage.
Sat evening when the Board came down to look at the breeds that were seeking advancement in CFA, Isabelle brought out one of her Mitted Ragdolls, and put it on a table for all the judges to see. She proceeded to talk and show the Board members the differences between the Ragdoll & the Birman. Darrell Newkirk kept bringing Board members over and pointing out the differences between the two breeds. Meanwhile all the Ragdoll breeders were talking to various Board members and encouraging them to vote to advance the Mitted & Colorpoints to AOV.
After the Board had left we went across the way to a very nice restaurant for dinner together, knowing that we had done our very best to advance our Ragdolls, it really had been a great TEAM effort.
On Sunday we all met at 9:00 am to hear the Boards verdict. Isabelle as Breed Council Secretary was the only one allowed to speak. She gave an outstanding presentation as to why the Ragdoll should be given AOV. The final vote was 17-2 in favor of advancing the Mitted & Colorpoints to AOV. Another goal had been achieved, our next goal would be for Championship.
